Whilst completing GCSEs, young people are faced with their next big decision – what to do after Year 11. There ar e a number of options available to young people. Sixth Form, College, Apprenticeship or entering the world of employment.
The Mid and North Wales Reaching Wider partnership includes Aberystwyth University, Bangor University, Wrexham Glyndŵr University, Coleg Cambria, Coleg Ceredion, Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai and NPTC Group of Colleges.
We have a host of opportunities for post-16 learners, some examples of our projects include a 3-day residential at Bangor University, Easter football college, coaching and mentoring, pre-access courses, next steps events, family learning days and academic skills sessions. The South East Wales partnership consisting of reaching wider teams at The University of South Wales, Cardiff University and Cardiff Metropolitan University deliver a combined programme to targeted learners which brings higher education into schools and colleges with Future Me and young people into higher education with Pathways to Success.
The programme delivers interactive, engaging workshops with a range of activities and experiences for Key Stage 5 / Level 3 learners.

Swansea University offers the Step Up to Swansea University programme as part of its Institutional Reaching Wider plan.
The Step Up to Swansea University programme is a series of day events and a short residential at Swansea University aimed at Year 12 students completing the first year of a level 3 qualification in school or college in South West Wales (Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire) to experience life at university.
Successful completion of the programme means that students are able to claim a tariff point reduction if applying for certain undergraduate courses at Swansea University. For more information contact stepup@swansea.ac.uk
