Year 7 to 11 is a very important time in your life. The decisions you make now can help shape your future. It is a great time to start experimenting with different career ideas and options. You can begin building a future that makes the most of your individual skills and interests.

You probably have lot of questions at the moment, and we’re here to help. You can use this page as a helping hand to gain guidance and advice on how to conquer Years 7 – 11.

We offer a range of inspiring activities for targeted learners in Schools, Colleges and Communities across South West Wales. Our programmes are designed to:

  • Support transition, progression and attainment
  • Raise awareness of Higher Education opportunties and pathways
  • Develop Learner wellbeing and confidence
  • Support the new curriculum
  • Build new skills
North & Mid Wales

We work with priority schools and families to support learners with appropriate in school and out of school activities.

Our aims are to:

  • Raise aspirations awareness and resilience of learners through the activities helping students to become more ambitious and capable learners.
  • Provide engagements that support learners to develop cross curricular skills in literacy, numeracy and digital competency and to bridge any gaps
  • Develop and promote the learners to develop Welsh language skills and culture.
  • We support learners to make progress by delivering a varied programme of activities which will support the learner to progress and achieve giving them confidence to make informed decisions into FE, HE and beyond.
South East Wales

The South East Wales partnership consisting of reaching wider teams at The University of South Wales, Cardiff University and Cardiff Metropolitan University deliver a combined programme which brings higher education into schools with Future Me and young people into higher education with Pathways to Success.

The programme delivers interactive, engaging, ‘in school’ workshops with a range of activities and experiences across Key Stages Two, Three and Four.

Our Future me offer for year 8 and 9 is called Ignite: Your Future Career and for years 10 and 11 is called Instil: Higher Aspirations.

We run engaging and interactive workshops both in schools and on campus.

South West Wales

Our range of inspiring and engaging programmes are available to targeted Year 7 – Year 11 pupils and are available both in school and on our University and FE College campuses. These include:

  • Saturday Clubs in Art and Engineering
  • Study Skills and Revision workshops
  • University visits
  • Intro to HE, Options and Careers sessions
  • Subject tasters and masterclasses
  • STEM challenges
  • Wellbeing and confidence building workshops
  • Communication, problem solving, critical thinking and team building workshops
